When a gateway is in use on a form, the total amount to be processed is displayed above the send button.
When you have more than one payment amount field on your form, the amounts are added together. This happens when a payment amount field is in use on a catalog checkout form, an event registration form and when a donor covers your transaction fees. Your website users will see the total amount of their payment.
For example... here are some sample combinations:
- Donation amount + transaction fees
- Event Registration total + transaction fees
- Event Registration total + donation amount + transaction fees
- Catalog purchase + donation amount
- Catalog purchase + donation amount + transaction fees
The calculation and display happens automatically—there's no setting to turn on or off. However, older designs do not support this feature. If you're using a payment gateway on a form but the total amount is not displaying, it may be time for a design upgrade. Contact your account team for more information.
