Protected [even more] by reCAPTCHA

Firespring is committed to ensuring the safety and security of your website. Updates and new features are continually being added that ensure your visitors can engage with your website safely.

We've recently enhanced our reCAPTCHA system to increase clients' protection from spammers and credit card fraud. The reCAPTCHA service helps to prevent malicious programs from submitting false requests, payments, donations or other general requests through your site. These enhancements are automatic and do not require any input or settings changes from you.

As a result of the protection running behind the scenes across our platform:

  • Forms on your website may be temporarily protected by reCAPTCHA and display the logo/badge during that time. You may see this protection running on a form that you have set to not use reCAPTCHA and this simply means that our system has automatically engaged protection on the platform.
  • While reCATPCHA is enabled, rest assured that not every visitor to your site will need to solve a puzzle to submit the form. Generally, if a website visitor is not doing anything suspicious, they should not have to solve a captcha puzzle—even with the badge displaying—the system knows they are not a robot.
  • In rare occasions, malicious characters may try to use a payment form on your site to test the validity of stolen credit card numbers (generally referred to as carding fraud). In the rare event of our system detecting carding fraud on your payment form, your form may automatically be disabled to interrupt the attempts. A message will display stating that the form is temporarily unavailable.
