Big news! We’ve made an update to your Print Ready Files section of the Springboard.
VersaDoc™ users will now see a new column labeled Workorder # on the Print Ready Files page. Each VersaDoc™ item gets its own Workorder number when it’s created, which acts like that document’s unique fingerprint. Now, when you copy items in your Print-Ready Files, you can sort your list by Workorder number to quickly spot which ones are clones.
Copying (or cloning) a catalog item in Springboard is a quick way to make one product visible in multiple storefronts—without having to re-enter all the details. It’s a time-saver our clients love (and time saved is money saved).
VersaDoc™ items don’t just copy the setup, they copy everything. That includes rules, copyfits, and artwork.
Here’s why:
VersaDoc™ items are built using software outside of Springboard. When you request a new VersaDoc™ document, it automatically generates a Workorder number through Springboard to keep everything connected and organized.
When you copy a VersaDoc™ item, you’re also copying that original Workorder number, and all the functionality that comes with it. So, any edits you make to one version will apply to every clone. Variable fields, rules, copyfit, artwork… all identical, all linked.
Here’s what we recommend:
- Head to the Print-Ready Files area in the Springboard.
- Click the Workorder # column to organize your list.
- If you see the same Workorder number assigned to multiple items, review them carefully.
- Need a copied VersaDoc™ item with different artwork or variable fields?
- Request a new document through Springboard to generate a fresh Workorder number.
- In your request comments, reference the existing item you’d like to model it after.
We’ve got your back.
